6 and 7 Months Old!

This blog combines Parker's 6 and 7 month updates... since I did not do a 6 month blog.

Parker is getting so busy! He is crawling and climbing on everything! He loves eating rice, oatmeal and barley cereals, and he loves his sweet potatoes and yellow squash but doesn't really care for apples or peaches. I am still making his food and I am still nursing, which I have really enjoyed... it is a good thing since he will not take a bottle! He has really figured out how to play with his toys by pushing buttons and pulling things. He's crawling on his bottom shelf and he will push everything off of it to climb onto it! He thinks the dogs are hilarious, Tyson (big dog) loves to lick him in the face. He really likes going on jogs in the jogging stroller, loves bath time and playing with his bath toys and sucking on his washrag! The last couple of days we have gone to the pool and he is NOT a fan of the water... but I am hoping that will change! I have also started teaching Parker some sign language - hopefully he will catch on soon!

Parker's 6 months stats from the doctor:
He was 15 pounds and 10 ounces and is 25 1/2 inches long. They have changed now.

Memphis

Colt, Parker and I went to Memphis, TN the weekend before last and then Parker and I stayed the rest of last week. We stayed with my parents and sisters and Colt had to come back and work... if you read the last blog you know that my blog was hacked and I LOVE what he wrote! It was a great surprise!! I am really blessed with a thoughtful loving husband! Sorry ladies, he is taken;)

We had so much fun in Memphis! Parker got lots of love and attention from family, friends and my sister's friends. The first weekend we were there, he got to see all three sets of his great grandparents (on my side... the Woolever's, Voegeli's and Horne's)! I want to thank my parents and sisters for a wonderful week! I miss them very much and I am SO thankful for them and their unconditional love!

So much went on last week, I do not know where to begin.... The first weekend started with a nail polish incident, family pictures, dinner with my grandparents and Sue and Johnny from Dallas, TX (they were driving through - on their road trip) Michele's band concert, and dinner with Kat and Josh. During the week, we had dinner, lunch, and went shopping with Jamie; my sisters had their last week of school, Michele's friends played with Parker, we checked Allison out of school for lunch (she was exempt from exams), shopped in downtown Arlington, TN, I cooked dinner for my family, grandparents and Aunt Sheri, had dinner with Kyle and Tiffany, a dinner with Kat, hung out in my parents cove with a few of the Moms, I took video of little girls spying;), ran a few times, Allison left for Disney World, Parker learned a new "word" and last but not least Jamie and I went to Addison and David's wedding reception. We only went to the wedding reception because I had to put Parker to bed and Jamie had a baby shower. It was such a fun time and was so great seeing everyone!

Since I have been back to Birmingham, AL it has been super busy too! Sunday, I had to pack everything up (I think I packed up my house and took it ALL to Memphis) and drive back. I wanted to make it back in time to go to Molly's Baccalaureate... I did make it back in time, but I was not dressed and Parker was still in his PJ's. So, I unpacked the car and got Parker and myself ready for dinner with Colt's family. The next day, we had Molly's graduation!! (I will post pics in a later blog) All day before Molly's graduation Aunt Casey spent the day with Parker. During Molly's graduation, Chris and Jenna watched Parker for us. Maggie, Cooper and Parker had the best time together! Also, Tiffany came in town to visit her dad and lucky for me he had to work so she spent the past 3 days with me and Parker! Colt and I also had a great surprise visit from Wes Hamm! Then tonight we had our Sunday School Social at the DeRieux's house! It was so much fun! We have a wonderful class!

As usual I am leaving out a ton of details and I know you are tired of reading this by now! If you are still reading this... thank you!

So Blessed and Thankful for Ash and Parker!

This blog is long overdue. It is actually my first official blog (although I edit and rewrite most of them for Ash) .

I have just spent this past week as a "bachelor" as Ashley and Parker spent the week in Memphis visiting her family. Not that I didn't know already, but I see even more how thankful I am for Ashley and how blessed that she is my wife! She does so much for me and for our family and household. She takes care of so many things and allows me to focus on my work, which by the way is the only way I made it through the week - by working all day and night! I don't recommend it but it got me through the week - I am exhausted.

She is also an amazing mom to Parker. I could never have imagined how perfect a job she would do - and with such an energetic and crazy little boy (it's only going to get crazier I can imagine). I could not ask for anything more from her. I guess I missed Parker a "little" bit too... I could not stop looking at the pictures and videos Ashley was sending me and showing them to everyone I was with.

Not that what I have written here are not things you all already know if you know Ashley, but I just thought I'd share my thanks for her. Her and Parker are such a wonderful blessing to my life and I do not know what I would do without them!

Mother's Day Weekend!

Last weekend was really special because it was my first Mother's Day!! (Colt did make Mother's Day special for me last year when Parker was in my belly - he framed my Alabama Cheerleading Uniform as my gift) Anyway, the weekend started with dinner on Friday night with Colt's parents and watching Branson (Colt's cousin) play baseball. It was so fun watching those little boys play with those big helmets on - they were really good!

On Saturday afternoon - Colt, Parker and I went shopping at the Summit and ate lunch at Flip Burger! It was a great day hanging out with both of my boys! We also went to Whole Foods and bought a ton of fresh vegetables for Parker! We made yellow squash, peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, and peaches! I know it sounds crazy... especially if you know me... but I LOVE making his food!

Sunday, we went to Trinity Methodist Church for Evan Wilson and Harrison Fikes Baptism... both boys were SO cute! After the service we went to brunch at the Wilson's (Justin's Parents). It was so nice and the food was wonderful. For my big Mother's Day gift, Colt and his parents got me a Zoo membership! So we went to the Birmingham Zoo Sunday afternoon - it was Parker's first time. The weather was beautiful and it was a perfect day to be outside!!

To top it off Parker got me the Nike App for my i-phone! It is SO neat, I put this little sensor in my tennis shoe (which if you have a Nike running shoe there is a special place for it - so neat!) Then while you are listening to your Ipod it tracks your distance/calories/speed and even talks to you... it is pretty neat!

I want to thank Colt, Parker, my family and friends who thought about me on Mother's Day! It was a wonderful day and I feel very blessed! Colt and I prayed and prayed for a sweet baby and I never could have imagined the LOVE I have for him and how our world has changed! I am so blessed that God chose me to be Colt's wife and Parker's mom! I love my boys!
