Our Week and Updates

Sorry for the lack of blogging! I have not done a good job at taking pictures this week either. Here is your warning - its long and if you make it to the end - THANKS!

Monday - Khaki took Parker to the Park and brought him back home after his nap. Later in the afternoon we went to play with the Bailey's!

Tuesday - Today was Beckett's actual due date - isn't that crazy to think about?! The boys and I had a lazy day and sweet Amy and Hayes stopped by to bring us dinner!

Wednesday - Colt's mom kept Beckett so I could take Parker to Dawson's pool play date and spend some quality time with him - it was so good to get out with him. It was a lot of fun, but super hot outside! After nap, my dad and sisters came in town to spend time with us!!

Thursday - I had my doctor appointment to check my blood pressure. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers - it was better! I am still on some medicine so we are praying when I go back in three weeks I can get off of all of it. We ran some errands and then sweet Katie and Chase brought us a yummy dinner! After, I put Parker in bed and fed Beckett, the girls, my dad and I went to see Harry Potter!!!!!!! I have been wanting to see it!! Most of you know how much I loved the books and movies and the final movie did not disappoint! I LOVED it!

Friday - We took Parker and Beckett to their first movie! I would say it was a success! We went to the dollar movie and I figured even if we didn't make it through, that it was only a dollar. It was great idea - Parker really watched the movie and loved the popcorn and M&M's and sweet Beckett slept the whole time! Plus, it was inside out of the heat!! We finally took Parker to get a haircut - I know some of you have been looking at his pictures and wondering what we were waiting for. I wanted to get it before Beckett came... and then Beckett came early - you get the picture. Anyways, we used a new girl in Homewood to cut his hair - she was GREAT! We were in and out quick and she does not charge for children 3 and under! (I did pay her a tip however) We ended our night at New York Pizza with Colt's parents.

Other side note: Beckett's umbilical fell off so he got his first real bath!

Prayer Request Update: My Grandaddy Raymond is still in the hospital and from what I understand he has congestive heart failure and has fluid on his heart, lungs and legs. They are trying to get control of fluid so they can prevent surgery because it would be risky at his age. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for my grandaddy Raymond and grandmother Bonnie. My Grandaddy is in the hospital, I really do not know much other than his legs and ankles are really swollen. Also, my grandmother Bonnie is not feeling well either. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Ganny, Ami and Maci!

Ganny, Ami and Maci came to visit and play today. Parker loved playing with Maci... or more like stealing every toy from her... thankfully she was really sweet and would share with him. I need to work on that with Parker! Molly also came by to try and get some pictures of all three kiddos - but Parker and Maci were not having it! Beckett on the other hand was so good and slept through it all;) It was a lot of fun spending time with them!

Tuesday and Wednesday

Tuesday and Wednesday have been my first days alone with both boys! It has gone really well - I have even been able to keep up with the laundry and house. I really hope it continues!!! Both boys have been SO good! Beckett is the sweetest baby - he is eating and sleeping good - I just can't get enough love from him! I love this little baby stage - I am trying to soak it up because I know it goes by so quickly!

Parker is SO in love with Beckett - it is so sweet! We have done a lot of coloring, playing and even had an extra early, extra long bath time! Parker and I are not used to staying at home all day so I have been trying to think of fun things to do. It is way too hot to go outside - if anyone has some ideas of fun inside (not messy) activities to do - please share with me! I am having Colt set up Parker's tent and tunnel with balls tonight. Parker is going to be so excited tomorrow!!

Monday

Monday, Colt's mom and Molly took Parker to McWane Science Center! They said he had so much fun! While they were out we had some sweet friends come and visit Beckett and I! Becca came by first - it was so good to see her and she is expecting a little boy in December!! Then, Shannon and Knox came by and brought lunch! And lastly, Jenna and Maggie came over! Beckett got lots of love!!

Catching Up

Our Boys: God is so great!!! Colt and I are loving our family of four! Our boys are the sweetest cutest boys EVER! Parker really loves Beckett and always gives him kisses and plays with his toes. I love watching them together! Beckett is so sweet and is eating and sleeping great!

This Weekend... we spent some really good family time together! Parker was going stir crazy in the house so we took him to the park on Friday and then on Saturday we took him to Colt's parents pool. The Bailey family joined us for both outings! Parker had so much fun and Beckett slept through it all. Today, we went to the grocery store - which was so funny because we had to get two baskets - one for the boys and one for the groceries.

Last Week: When we got home from the hospital my mom and sisters stayed with us until Friday. They were SO helpful - they played and played with Parker and kept our house, dishes, and laundry clean! We are SO thankful for them. I think they were pretty worn out when they left;) Parker goes nonstop! My Mom is coming back tomorrow to spend a few more days!

Doctor Appointments: Beckett's one week appointment went great! He weighed 6 Pounds 6 Ounces! My appointment however did not go as well... My blood pressure was still high. The doctor added to my medication and had me buy a cuff to check my blood pressure at home. They good news is the medicine is working! I am now checking my blood pressure often throughout the day. I would really appreciate more prayers that it would lower on its own. High blood pressure is serious for anyone but apparently it is more serious after you have a baby. The good thing is that I do feel good - so that is a blessing!!

Getting us HOME!

I feel like I have so much I want to write about... but I am going to 'try' and give the shortened version...

Colt and I are just in awe over our sweet Beckett! God is so GREAT!! Thank you SO much for your prayers. I was worried about him being delivered at 37 weeks and if he was ready - he could not have been more ready or more perfect! He is so sweet and we cannot give him enough love!!

Labor and delivery went wonderful... but after delivery instead of my blood pressure going back down to normal, it started going up... My doctor even had me stay in the hospital an extra day and a half... and let me tell you that was SO stressful!!! I am on medication to lower my blood pressure, and I'm taking it easy at home and I go back Friday morning to have it checked again. I would REALLY appreciate your prayers that my blood pressure has gone down and that I would not be so anxious about it.

Parker did great while we were at the hospital!! We have never spent the night away from him so four nights was a long time for his Mama;) But, he did great and got SO much love and attention! I am very thankful for all of his grandparents! He also spent a lot of time at the hospital with us and was so good and sweet! I was so surprised that he was not a crazy man there:) He is already the best big brother is so sweet and gentle with his baby brother! I love seeing them together!!

We are so thankful to be at home with our boys!! I will blog more on that soon!
