Colt and I are so thankful that God chose us as Parker and Beckett's daddy and mommy!
We have been trying to soak up our boys - their fun ages and these sweet moments.
Here are a few moments with the boys Colt and I do not want to forget!
Beckett - 19 Months
Bedtime - After reading books, Beckett will let me rock him like a baby and sing. He "talks", laughs, listens and will grab my face. We also make funny faces and make silly sounds :)
Bath Time - Will get on his belly and swim around like and fish and blow bubbles. He will also give you his foot one at a time to wash! So cute!
Car - He likes watching movies in the car and has started laughing out loud during a funny part. After school I always ask him to tell me about his day and he is always so excited to "tell" me all about it! Sometimes, he will start to fall asleep in the car on the way home... and if he does fall asleep in the car, he will not nap. So, I will reach behind my seat and shake his foot - it makes him so mad and he will yell at me. Then, Parker will yell at Beckett for yelling at me - basically its always a wild car ride!
He loves to drink out of a big cup with a straw - no matter what the drink is! This boy will down water, Coke, Dr. Pepper or sweet tea depending on if he grabs mine or Colt's drink. I am that crazy parent who will will only let him drink water, milk and juice... so he is pretty excited when he grabs ahold of our drinks.
NO fear - Beckett has no fear will jump, run and climb and never learns his lesson. He wants to do everything Parker does and just the way he does it! Parker has learned many lessons by now - and he knows when to help Beckett avoid injury. But, he is also a big encourager of getting Beckett to try things and he knows Beckett will - they think it is hilarious. I have to admit, sometimes I do too... but other times I think they are trying to give me more gray hairs :)
Words - Mama, Dad, Pawpaw, uh-o, dog, bird, more, "ready, set, GO". He can do almost any animal sound. "Singing" songs!
Loves reading books, playing with his train table - and he has to sit on top of it while he plays; watching Little Einstein - and following all of their instructions, playing outside, pushing toys, drums and playing kitchen - he is already pretend playing!
Loves toothbrushes - We go through a lot of toothbrushes in this house.
Potty - He pretends to go and lifts his shirt up when Parker is going. Super Cute! No, we are not starting potty training yet.
Parker - 3 Years
We are loving this age and the things that come out of Parker's mouth ;) It is more and more proof that he is a little boy!
Parker's prayers - I love to listen to who comes to his mind. He is so sweet and thanks God for "Evbody" at the end of the prayer. He also likes to say his prayer while others are saying the prayer - so cute but I am not sure his Sunday School teachers thinks it is a cute as we do.
When Parker is being silly or trying to get our attention he will call us "Honey", "Colt" and "Ash"
Some of his responses that he must have picked up from Colt and I:
"I am proud of you", "Perfect", "Awe Man", "Rwelly, dark outside"
He loves his big boy bed and clock! He loves the clock - if we forget to switch his clock to nighttime he loves to argue his point that it is not bedtime/nap time - and technically he is right!
"Mommy, the sun wake up!"
He has his 1st real best friend he made at school! His name is Thomas and he talks about Thomas constantly! It is super cute! Even, the teachers talk about how they are best friends. I told him "Parker, you know Beckett's middle name is Thomas! Beckett Thomas. That is so cool!" So, that was not my best idea.... His response was "NO, my name is Thomas" It is a whole thing now... If you ask him if his name is Parker Lamar, his response will be "No, I Parker Thomas".
Pretend play! He pretends eating all kinds of good foods! We will say "Buddy, you would love a apple do you want to try one?" and his response is "No, I just pretend". He pretends that he can carry around his favorite TV show characters and that he is flying around with Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
Brother Love
These two can love each other with a passion and then fight with a passion!
Love kissing, hugging, pushing(Parker), taking toys, laughing, biting(Beckett) and just recently hair pulling! It can be very confusing and all of these can happen in 10 minutes!
They love to laugh at each other!!! The laughter warms my heart!!!
Beckett is mostly the leader he has Parker copying him and chasing him around the house. A look into our future - I can only imagine what these two monkeys are going to come up with!
They love driving the double shopping cart at publix and enjoying their free cookie! They love to help unload the basket and pull all of the groceries out at the checkout. Beckett is really strong you would be surprised what all he can pickup!
Parker likes to sit and eat in Beckett's highchair to eat and Beckett mostly refuses to sit in it anymore.
