Book Recommendation

I have another book recommendation! I need to start a book club - just kidding! I believe this book is a MUST read for ALL women! She gives great insight and perspective on responding to your spouse and children when things seem upside down :) If you are anything like I am when it comes to some of my relationships - over-think things, too sensitive, say the wrong thing, worrier, and put a smile on my face even though I'm not smiling on the inside - you will love this book!!!

My church just started a women's Wednesday night bible study and when I saw this book I have been wanting to read on the list, I was so excited!! If any of my Birmingham friends want to come I would love for you to join me! I wish I had read this book years ago! I am praying that I can take what I have learned from this book and apply it to my life. The author calls it 'imperfect progress.'

Book Recommendation

A friend recommended this book to me and I thought I would share! I consider myself a pretty organized person but this book takes it to a whole new level! I love it :) A perfect read before moving into the new house. Just a warning, I plan on getting rid of A LOT... and I thought I had already done that during the move into the rental house.

A few highlights that I took from the book:

1. Making a purpose statement for your family - Colt and I have always had one but she explains it well and how to really set it in motion and use it daily.
2. What you actually need in your home and what can go. Why are you holding on to something - is it for you or because you do not want to hurt someone's feelings or don't want to be wasteful?
3. Where are you spending your time? Are you making the best decisions to meet your family's needs. She really puts watching TV into perspective...
4. "The way you handle your finances and the transactions in your bank account should reflect your convictions about life. Do they?"
5. "Simple living doesn't happen automatically"
6. Placing a higher priority on relationships and events than on tangible things.

Recommendation

I keep forgetting to blog about this:

"The Most Important Place on Earth" By Robert Wolgemuth is a great book! My Mom's and More group at church read this book and I loved it! I used it as my daily devotional, it is filled with scripture. This book is geared towards families with children but I would recommend it to anyone. Anyone who has a family, wants a family or who's children have already left home. It is a great reminder of SO many important things!!
