The day started off at 4:15AM in the morning. I got up and got ready and fed Beckett. Colt made us breakfast and got ready. Colt's mom arrived at 5AM to take care of Beckett and Colt's dad even stopped by to kiss Parker. Lastly, we got Parker up and loaded him up.
We took a big bag full of crayons, paper, stickers, books, cars and had loaded our iPhone with new movies! I also packed my breast pump and some snacks and a drink for Parker for after the surgery. At the hospital we had our own room and we watched movies and colored while we were waiting. He was doing great but you could tell he knew something was going on. The nurse let us walk him to the end of the hallway before she had to take him... It was traumatic for all three of us.
After about 45 min, the doctor came in and said everything went great and that he was still waking up from his anesthesia! Then, 30 minutes later, the nurse called and said Parker was awake and they were going to bring him to the room. When she brought him back to us, he looked so sweet! He said "hi" and waved - I think Colt and I could finally really breath again!
When he realized what happened with his lip he freaked out. It was really sad. Then, when the nurse took his blood pressure and tried to check his mouth he really freaked out again. We turned on Elmo and had a popsicle and were able to go home!! He was walking... no running out of the hospital! He does not have any real limitations which is good! He came home to gifts from Jenna and Khaki! He ate and took a great nap. He has been doing great and he has only had a few times where you can tell he is hurting.
As most of you know, he LOVES his bed and reaches for it and has never wanted to sleep in our bed - but tonight he would not let go of me and he is sleeping in our bed right now. I am not going to lie - I LOVED it!!! Very thankful for all of your thoughts and prayers! We go back in two weeks for a follow up, I will keep you posted.
